The Petzl Strix VL is an all-purpose tactical headlamp, great for military or armed forces professionals. It gives you four different color options as well as multiple brightness levels. Use the red LED for preserving your night vision, or the blue LED for map reading. The Petzl Strix VL gives you amazing output from a single AA battery with a regulated LED to give you a consistent performance.

• Two lighting configurations:
     White LED, 3 brightness levels:
         High - 40 lumens, runs for 4.5 hours, shines 131 feet (40 meters)
         Medium - 15 lumens, runs for 20 hours, shines 65 feet (20 meters)
         Low - 0.4 lumens, runs for 65 hours, shines 13 feet (4 meters)
     Visible color lighting:
         Red - 1 lumen, runs for 20 hours, shines 13 feet (4 meters)
         Green - 1.5 lumens, runs for 17 hours, shines 13 feet ( 4 meters)
         Blue - 0.35 lumens, runs for 17 hours, shines 6.5 feet (2 meters)
• switching of the Petzl Strix VL headlamp:
     pull out switch from "lock mode"
     pulse clockwise for color LED
     pulse clockwise again to cycle through low white, medium white, and high white
     pulse counterclockwise from any mode for off
     push switch in to lock in current mode
         switching sequence: color>>low white>>medium white>>high white
• to switch between color modes:
     pulse switch once to activate colored LED
     pulse and hold knob in counterclockwise (SET/OFF) direction for 5 seconds
     rotate between color choices (red, green or blue) by twisting knob counterclockwise
     after 4 seconds in any color, the LED will blink and that color will be selected
        switching sequence: red>>blue>>green
• SCAN (momentary) function:
     from any mode (including off), pulse the switch until you reach the desired mode
     on the last pulse, hold the switch as long as you need light
     release the switch to go back to starting mode
• powered by a single AA battery - choose alkaline, lithium, or NiMH rechargeable (alkaline included)
• can be used as a headlamp, clipped to a MOLLE vest, or attached to a military helmet 
    with the OPS core rail attachment or optional helmet mount accessory
